How to buy diamond stud earrings?
Mama wants some diamond studs...what should I look for?
First off you want to know a bit about the 4 c’s.
COLOR: Diamond color is all about what you cant see. D through F is considered colorless and everything down starts to show a little tint of yellow. Z being REALLY yellow and D showing the least amount of color. The less color the higher the value. This is an important criteria when purchasing a diamond, as it is what everyone can see with the naked eye.
CLARITY: Deep in the earth under extreme heat and pressure a diamond is formed. Diamonds go through a lot to get here and most of the time they have birthmarks, either internal (inclusions) or external (blemishes). Diamond clarity refers to the absence of these inclusions and blemishes. Diamonds without inclusions or blemishes are rare, and rarity affects value. Clarity ranges from (I3) noticeable inclusions to (FL) flawless. Usually we recommend trying a higher diamond color and lower clarity for maximum relative value. Of course, how far you go will depend on economic and personal preference.
CUT: Cut is a factor that fuels diamonds fire, sparkle and brilliance. Though extremely difficult to analyze or quantify, the cut of any diamond has three attributes: brilliance (the total light reflected from a diamond), fire (the dispersion of light into colors of the spectrum), and scintillation (the flashes of light, or sparkle, when a diamond is moved). The most popular cut for suds is round but princess and other fancy cuts look great too.
CARAT: The bigger the better and remember, The Diamondaire offers 100% trade up options for all studs you got from us into the past and into the future. Sweet deal for your gal.
Make sure they look flush with the ear.
If the earrings don’t fit correctly then your presentation will be all off. If your big studs are not set right then they look to heavy and look like they are spilling forward on the ear lobe. If the diamond is facing the floor then what’s the point? If it’s a lower carat size get a basket setting to make it pop forward but if it’s a big guy, get him in some martini settings that sits flush in the ear.
…. And remember diamond studs are timeless. A lady who likes diamonds will always want at least one pair of studs in her collection. So there is no way you can go wrong. Have fun and call us to see what we can find for you at (630) 355-7464(RING).
